Herring History

In 1944 Earl Herring opened a small appliance store in a small town in South Arkansas. By providing only the best products and services to his customers, Earl soon expanded his business to include home furnishings.

In 1986, Earl's son, Phil Herring, moved Herring Furniture Company to its current location and expanded the store by adding several new furniture galleries. Phil also began to showcase the talents of one of his three daughters, Amber, who launched her commercial career at the tender age of four, touting the store as the place to "Drive a little and save a lot."

For over three decades, Phil and Amber have continued to promote this concept by offering quality name brand home furnishings at unbelievably low prices. Today, shoppers that make the short drive to Strong, Arkansas will find one of the nicest furniture stores in the region.

Herring Furniture recently expanded to include one the largest La-Z-Boy® Comfort Studios in the region, offering loveseats and an upholstered line that is second to none. La-Z-Boy® is synonymous with quality, selection, and performance.

Herring Furniture also features one of the largest Broyhill® Showcase Galleries in the mid-South. During your visit to Herring Furniture, be sure to visit the Sealy Sleep Center to find a mattress that will put an end to sleepless nights.
